Happy 5th Birthday Miss Abby!!!
Who would have thought 5 years ago that today we would be spending your birthday in Montreal giving you a gift that you are still not able to appreciate. Each session we are confident that we are doing the right thing:)
These days with Ramon have been wonderful in the sense that Mike and I can see where we are going and the bigger picture for his work. We see her getting stronger and her weight shifting from leaning back to being straight up over her toes. She seems a little more confident in her steps and stronger in her movements, but still the crying is wearing on us. At times we are ready just to pick her up and take her home, to where it is easy. But we always stop ourselves in lieu of the bigger picture; her independence.
Ramon is very happy with the progress that Abby has made this past week and still 3 days to go. She is doing all the initiating of movement and he just provides the support. Today he even did one at heels...no where else to go but total freedom. He is soo positive and encouraging to Abby.
The first session today was a tough one. He threw some really challenging exercises at her. He also did some exercises with support in the front to encourage her to lean forward and not back. The good news it that he thought she was ready for it
The second session was better. A few less tears and some great work. A highlight was when the whole gang of them sang Happpy Birthday!!!
We spent the afternoon swimming at the hotel and then out for supper...Abby's pick..McDonald's!! Then to Baskin Robbins for dessert:) A good day!
3 more days left.....
